“How can Wordle be used in the classroom?”. To answer this question, I typed “wordle lesson plans” into google. I found a Wordle blog written by Jonathan Feinberg, the person who made wordle. On this blog, teachers have started a discussion about how they personally want to include Wordle in their curriculum. Some are English teachers, some are foreign language teachers, and they are all bouncing different ideas around.

The link to the blog you provided has some useful information. However, I don't think that we'll truly find how to use Wordle in the classroom until we try it as a classroom aid ourselves. If you look at Phillip's blog, he came up with a great way to use Worldle that you might like and be able to use it one day in your own classroom.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Beth. I figure since Wordle is such a new tool (at least as far as I know), we will be the ones to find ways to use it in the classroom.
ReplyDeleteThe blog link you posted was good. It just proves why the internet is so great. We are wondering about why wordle was created and to use it in the classroom and to get the answers we have access to go to the actual creator of the program. My favorite is the student's reaction to wordle in one of the comments someone posted. The students said they enjoyed learning vocabulary using wordle because it was pretty and different. A simple explanation that makes so much sense.
ReplyDeleteI really like how Jodi used wordle. I think her wordle aid would be great for younger students. It would be a wonderful way for remind students of terms they could use during critique.
ReplyDeleteThanks Philip! I think that WORDLE in the classroom can help the students enhance their vocabulary when defining artwork. Again, anything new and fun will always draw a students attention!
ReplyDeleteI too have shared the wordle website with my colleagues at school. Our computer teacher even put it as a link on our homepage. I am planning to use them in my class to help research artists and display what they know by using words that help to describe the artist. Other teachers are using them as word studies. The computer teacher is using them as a way to show students how to play with words and design on the computer. The list goes on. They are great!
